Back in the office today…Dec 16th.
Retrieved my hard working pressure tester yesterday. Its nice to have it back and looking forward to putting it back to work this weekend.
Status:
* E-mails are still backed up at this time.
* We are still in the process of organizing and processing payments for the LRRP pre-orders submitted but making steady progress.
* For those that submitted a pre-order deposit for a LRRP in the last 2 weeks I will be sending out an e-mail with the ordering links in the next few days.
* Order shipments…we are working as quickly as possible and shipments are taking precedence over everything else at this time.
Survey Results:
If you haven’t taken the survey below I encourage you to do so. It looks like that we will be moving to the next stage for the “Bond” Submariner homage. I will be sending out a follow-up survey to make sure there is enough common ground and flexibility with regards to the specifications for the project to enjoy broad support. Given that that is the case I will go ahead and set up a forum so that those interested can voice their opinions on the design and follow the progress of the project.
Out of the office Monday Dec. 15th
Our pressure tester is back from Switzerland and I need to drive up to NYC to pick it up from the US distributor. My apologies in advance for any inconvenience.
New projects, your input requested!
It’s been an 18 month marathon but with the LRRP due to ship in the next few months we are close to completing the build out of the core of our watch collection. After keeping my head down and buried in my work for so long I think this a good time to come up for some fresh air and explore some limited edition projects that will capture the spirit of what drew us to collect watches in the first place. What I would really like to do is to set aside as much as possible the realities of a business and produce some watches that can be done for their own sake. After being approached by JohnF and Crusader from WUS I am currently involved in an A-11 homage that I hope will get off the ground. Toward that end I would like to get started by getting your input on one project in process and two proposed projects.
1) Tornek-Rayville: This is a project that I have been working on for a number of years and is more personal than business. I don’t expect to sell more than a handful per year but I wanted to revive the company mark given its one of only a handful of American watch companies that made dive watches for the US military. I registered the mark with the US Patent and Trademark Office (#78967903). The dial and my registration are in the final stage and I wanted to get collector’s feedback as to the final layout. If you would like to learn more about this watch below is a link to a history that was researched by Billy and I about a year ago.
Assuming enough interest the next two projects will be organized as a collaboration between myself and the collector’s community where we will work together on the final design and I will execute the production. If necessary I will set up a forum for the purpose of developing these projects. Given the limited production run of these projects we will be free to consider a number of options not normally available.
2) Proto-Seamaster 300 reference CK
3) “Bond” Submariner reference 6200/6538/5510
With your help I would like to take a gauge of the potential interest in these projects. My thanks to the community for your continuing support.
Status update and news 12/8
E-mails are going out again. A backlog built up over the last two weeks as we worked around the clock to ship customer and dealer orders. This was in addition to finalizing and launching the LRRP pre-order pages and preview pages. The LRRP preview pages are now up and running for the remainder of the pre-order period that ends later this week.
For the LRRP pre-order order submissions we are stil processing the payments and matching up the orders with their deposits. We will be sending out confirmations as we go. As per the earlier notice scheduling for the custom LRRP orders will begin after December 31st to allow for everyone to make their selections.
LRRP pre-ordering pages are up!
The LRRP ordering pages have been posted and a link to the ordering pages has been sent via e-mail. If you do not receive this e-mail please contact me.
Also please note that I modified the scheduling procedure for custom LRRPs:
* All orders for custom LRRPs received before the end of December will be scheduled in the order in which deposits were received.
* Orders for custom LRRPs received after December 31st will be scheduled in the order in which the finalized order was received and not according to the date that the deposit was received.
I realized a little late that my original scheduling procedure would likely cause people to rush through the ordering process to secure an early delivery date. This was not my intention and wouldn’t be fair to all of you that have been so patient with me. My apologies….
Also please note that pre-ordering will close on December 12th.
