Web site work

We are in the process of re-designing the web site. Over the next week you may or may not see some things “move” around on the site while you are surfing it. Please do not be alarmed. Our developer is re-working the navigation and the site layout. The changes will not affect ordering, the cart system, or the integrity of your account. Your information will be secure.

The order status portal has not been updated for the orders received in the last week. My wife usually does that for me but she is currently busy working with the developer to re-design the site. I know its kind of bad timing but the developer is doing us a huge favor with some free time he has so she had to drop everything to work on the site design.

Internet connection (update)

9/21/2009: Our Internet service has been restored and we are back to normal. The backlog of sales order e-mails will be worked down over the week.

9/19/2009: Our Internet connection went down this morning. After spending some time with the phone company trouble shooting the issue it appears that the most like cause is equipment issues on the phone company side. I will find out more tomorrow.

Shipping will slow down since we process our labels through the Internet. If the outage lasts through Monday we will start doing the labels by hand. Many if the labels needed are not in stock since we have not had to do this in more than a year. We can naturally pick up more when the post office opens Monday.

We are behind on the paperwork for orders received over the last week. The. Emails that need to out will not go out until the Internet connection is back. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The computers are fine so I will carry on with building watches and filling orders.

Until we gave our connection up I have my phone but it’s about as fast as walking through waist deep mud. I generally stay away from wi-fi hotspots for security reasons.

Primary computer is down….

looks like the hard drive on my 7 month old computer is fried again. The problems started late Thursday. Fortunately the data looks like it backed-up correctly. I have to stop shipping for the next few days to keep working on watches and to take care of this problem. Computer is goiing into the shop tomorrow.

UPDATE:

The primary computer is now back and I am re-loading all the backed-up files. I won’t be able to send out the PDF copies of the sales orders for a few more days. I need to re-configure my e-mail and to have the IT guys from the web store re-configure my computer to talk to the server again. Sorry in advance for the inconvenience.

LRRP update

* The first 100 pieces of the pre-built watches have arrived from Switzerland
* Shipments will definitely begin when I return from Basel. This will be the week of April 6th. Pre-builts will begin to go out first.
* The first two pieces will be shipped to the two earliest customers that reserved watches before I leave for Basel. Those two pieces are actually for two guys that reserved the watch when I showed the sample back in Basel of last year.
* We have traded in our old 20 ATM dry tester for a new 30 ATM dry tester. This is slated to arrive some time next week. It is going to be nice to come home to a new toy :D
* The schedule for the custom LRRPs haven’t been finalized yet because of the need to get the case parts out to Switzerland earlier this month. As some of you know ETA restricts the delivery of their higher end calibers (such as the 2893-2) to within Switzerland. They require that the movements are cased in Switzerland before export. This is the reason why we haven’t been able to begin work on the customs and why it was such a priority to get the case parts to Switzerland so that we could get our hands on some movements.

Travel Notice: March 24th through April 5th

I will be traveling between March 24th through April 5th. I will have Internet access and Obie should be available during this time to help with any questions.

Please note the following:

* I won’t be able to process orders, issue sales order numbers, or take care of any payment related issues while I am traveling. Either I won’t have access to my accounting system or access to an Internet connection secure enough to process payment related issues.
* Orders received after March 17th will be shipped after I return.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Here is a pic of Switzerland.

LRRP status

The following is a copy of the e-mail that just went out….

Dear Customers,

The first batch of parts are on their way to Switzerland for assembly. As some of you already know ETA requires that the higher end movements like the 2893-2 be cased in Switzerland before export. That means that the pre-built watches and the custom watches can not be started until this first batch comes back from the assembler. The lead time is usually about 10 working days and the parts are expected to arrive in Switzerland later today Monday the 23rd.

This should mean that delivery of the watches will begin around the second/third week of March. I will forward more updates as they become available.

Best Regards,

Bill Yao

E-mail status

I will be getting the e-mail that has backed-up in earnest tomorrow. I am hoping to bring in some extra help with regards to e-mail in within 1-2 weeks.

Project Kingston: “Plank-owner” Pre-order Closed

Thank you to everyone that has signed onto the “Kingston” pre-order. The reaction has exceeded my expectations but evidently the interest so far was not a surprise to those that signed-up. The actual number of pre-orders at this stage slightly exceeded the allotted number of 100 reservations. With no practical way to close off the pre-order at a given number we will include all those that submitted pre-orders as part of the 1st stage. The 2nd stage will be opened later in the year when actual delivery date has been confirmed.

Now open….pre-order for the “Bond Sub” homage

more details are now posted on the Mk II site. We also welcome you to participate in the develop of the watch on the new Mk II forum at WUS.
